At 9:00 a.m. today (the 24th), at the Jiangbian area of Jianbi in Jingkou District, Zhenjiang City, the commencement of operation of an ultra-heavy cable automated conveyor system enabled the construction team from Jiangsu Bincheng Power Construction Co., Ltd. to slowly dispatch a 2,000-meter-long cable—resembling a writhing dragon—toward Jiangzhong Green Island, located just across the river. By 4:00 p.m., the under-river cable-laying operation, which involved tunneling beneath the riverbed strata to cross the Yangtze River, was successfully completed, marking the first successful implementation of automated cable-crossing construction.
