A Comprehensive Checklist of Precautions for Zhongtian Optical Cable!

Zhongtian Optical Cable What are the points we need to pay attention to? Let’s analyze them together below.

1. Upon receipt of the optical cable, the user shall inspect the certificate of conformity and the accompanying optical performance data, verify the cable identification number, model, core count, length, and other specifications, and examine the outer packaging for any damage.
2. Zhongtian Optical Cable: During cable deployment, a traction rope must be connected to the cable’s strength member, and the assembly must be secured to the cable jacket using a mesh sleeve or adhesive tape. For duct-installed optical cables, a dedicated rotating pull head must be installed between the traction rope and the cable’s strength member; direct pulling on the cable’s outer jacket is prohibited.
3. Zhongtian Optical Cable: For optical cables longer than 2 km, it is not permitted to lay the cable in one continuous run from end to end. Instead, the cable must be coiled at the midpoint of the section and then looped in a figure-eight configuration at both ends.
4. When unloading optical cables from the vehicle, it is recommended to use a forklift or crane to gently lower the cables onto the ground.
5. During on-site construction, when unloading optical cables from the vehicle, place a flat, straight board between the vehicle platform and the ground to create a 45-degree ramp. Thread a rope through the central hole of the optical cable, have personnel on the vehicle hold both ends of the rope, and allow the cable to slide down the wooden ramp. When unloading the cable, stack it carefully and lay it flat. It is strictly prohibited to drop the cable vertically from a height; subjecting the cable to strong impacts will cause damage.
6. Zhongtian Optical Cable: When rolling the optical cable, follow the rotation arrow indicated on the cable reel; however, long-distance rolling is prohibited.
7. Prior to construction, the optical cable shall undergo individual-drum testing, including assessments of outer jacket quality and attenuation parameters.
8. The maximum tensile force during the installation of ducts or overhead cables shall not exceed 1,500 N, and the maximum tensile force during the installation of directly buried optical cables shall not exceed 3,000 N.
9. During installation and positioning, bending or forming 90-degree right-angle bends is prohibited. For dynamic bending (e.g., during construction), the bending radius for ducts and overhead cables shall be greater than 20 times the cable’s outer diameter; for directly buried optical cables, the bending radius shall be greater than 25 times the cable’s outer diameter. When laying the cable, the bending radius for ducts and overhead cables shall be greater than 10 times the cable’s radius; for directly buried optical cables, the bending radius shall be greater than 12.5 times the cable’s outer diameter, to prevent “dead loops” caused by severe cable bending.
10. Zhongtian Optical Cable During installation, the tensile force applied shall not exceed the specified allowable short-term tensile capacity (1,500 N for duct-installed and aerial optical cables; 3,000 N for direct-buried optical cables; 20% of the Rated Tensile Strength for ADSS optical cables). During operation, the tensile force shall not exceed the specified allowable long-term tensile capacity (600 N for duct-installed and aerial optical cables; 1,000 N for direct-buried optical cables; MAT for ADSS optical cables). Optical cable installation must be carried out under the supervision of technically qualified personnel.
Deploy according to the correct method. Zhongtian Optical Cable This is extremely important: improper installation can easily lead to increased signal attenuation, reduced service life, fiber breakage, cable jacket damage, and armor rupture. In particular, for feeder optical cables—which have a larger diameter and greater mass—it is essential to use cable racks to support the cable reel during deployment, rolling the reel while simultaneously pulling the cable. If loose, unspooled cable is being deployed without a cable rack, it must be carefully straightened and organized before laying. Personnel responsible for pulling and those responsible for guiding the cable should be equipped with walkie-talkies to maintain constant communication. When encountering resistance that cannot be overcome by force, do not apply excessive tension; instead, gently reposition and realign the cable before continuing. Only in this way can we ensure the safe deployment of our “fragile” optical cable.
